Today we went to the Latino Festival and had a FANTASTIC time. We made note of all the things we want to do with the boys when we bring them next year. Plus we were able to meet many friends from our Yahoo Group and see friends we already have. We saw some students that we teach, both past and present, and even some fellow teachers! Lots of pictures below. You can tell we had a wonderful time!
(Welcome to the Latino Festival)
All in all, we had a wonderful day and are soooooooooooooooo ready for the boys to come and be with us. We look forward to the day when we can trot them around and pick out empanadas and frioles and churros to eat! :) We're waiting for you, our sweet boys.
Here are some dancers. There were lots of local groups that performed. I loved their red dresses and they danced a wonderful, beautiful performance.
Cat (our friend) says this is pure gold -- that it doesn't matter what it costs, she'll pay because it is just that good. It was incredible the different drinks they had available.
Cat was eating a typical Colombian meal. She explained that the bread on top is made from corn and is served with everything in Colombia, just like Italians serve all pasta with bread.
Here's Tricia with her daughter Sophia, from Guatemala. She is "talking" with Karina (also from Guatemala, who is in the stroller (daughter of Marcie, another friend of ours!)

Our friends, Emily and her son Davis meet Karina for the first time!
Rockstar Phil and his wife Emily (with Davis). Emily is sportin' a Guatemalan hair wrap. Isn't she so festive and cute?
This is Marcie, whose daughter is Karina from the stroller.

This is Cat and her daughter Sofia. Cat is from Colombia and has been our guide through all things Hispanic. Thank you Catalina!

The dads have their time to chat as well.
This is Kate and her husband, who have adopted from Guatemala and are our fearless leaders in the local Yahoo Group.
Here is Marissa. Isn't she just beautiful? She had loads of fun taking in the music and activity.
And even at the Latino Festival you can get a SpongeBob icecream! Sofia is sportin' her fun face painting and enjoying her icecream for the afternoon.
