Today was soooo much fun. We started off with a special Saturday storytime at the library. No offense to the Roanoke College girls, but the children were WAY too young for the children's books, so the story part was a bit long and dull for the kiddos. Afterwards, though? They had a super-fun caterpillar and butterfly craft projects and the boys had a great time getting to glue antennas, wiggly eye-balls, and colorful body segments onto paper to make their insects. Cuteness. They were really proud of their final pictures and would have kept the college girls busy for a long time had we not needed to head home for lunch so we could attend our first Easter Egg Hunt!
The Easter Egg Hunt was a bust. We couldn't find anywhere to park, and the boys were so excited that it was infuriating them to have to walk to the hunt because they were certain we'd be late. Once we arrived, it was a horrible disaster as there were too many children and Danny didn't get a single egg on his own -- and the whole event was over within about 10 seconds. We abandoned the park, hiked to the car and then spent an hour playing at the preschool playground where we could play without being trampled, and could perk up after the devastation of leaving empty-handed (though Mateo did give Danny three of his eggs, even though he only got about 7 himself).
Today was such a long&fun day, but I never could have finished it all without my wonderful parents, who are great mediators between brotherly arguments. :) They joined us for our town egg hunt. They followed us on to the preschool playground, then came back to the house to dye Easter eggs and create mini egg hunts. It was really great. Props to mom and dad, who made the day extra-special.
Around 2 or 3 this afternoon, we settled into our first experience with dying eggs. It was hilarious. The boys had a big time, and the funniest part was that after they dyed them, they wanted to crack them open and eat them! We don't have a single egg left in tact, and the boys are ready for their boiled, multi-colored breakfast for tomorrow! (Don't worry; the eggs are resting in the fridge!) Check out these great photos. :)

Your pictures bring back such great memories of my own childhood. I would also make my parents hide the "boiled" eggs hundreds of times!! Love their smiles!!!!
