This isn't me, but I just really like this photo. I think it could be me; it seems super-familiar. So today Ray and I are both super-busy. I've been getting paperwork in order to document our agency's fraudulent practices. Ray's making a hundred phone calls to the attorney general, detectives, lawyers, the bar association. I'm so thankful that I've got our website set up so that you have to log in, because it means that I can share the fact that one of the most interesting bits of news came to us last night, in which we discovered that our agency was acting illegally BEFORE we signed our contract with them, which means we may have grounds to sue them despite signing a contract promising we wouldn't. *sigh* God is definitely present with us, and that has been quite a comfort.
It's pretty amazing how we were able to take our house off the market despite signing our contract. That was definitely thanks to the goodwill of two amazing people. Plus, since we've been in this mess for a while, time that has been building to this point, we've now acquired numerous folks as witnesses and support. We have a network that has quite a reach, and I think we're all resolved to bring about the end of our agency's ability to practice law and organize adoptions.
We are trying to stay super-positive.
We love our home. Our adoption may move quicker now.
Still, I think we both keep going and going and going and it's hard on us. This is really hard. I mean it's easy to cover it all up with anger, but money stuff is always hard -- make it a five-digit number, and we're super-stressed. It's a bit terrifying that our adoption can be halted in such a way, and it's daunting to take on our agency head-on. And then there's just the basic stress of simple over-commitment, from which Ray and I both suffer. We have something every night of the week and Ray's making his calls to the AG and detectives on his lunch break after he gobbles down food.
Anyway, that's the news from our house.
We'll keep you posted; maybe we can get these boys home soon.
Somehow I think that will make everything better.
Much much better.
Kelli
** Added this afternoon: Ray has called Rick Boucher, our House Representative, and Boucher has agreed to look into whether or not involving the FBI would jeopardize our adoption, or the adoptions of our friends who are still in-process. **

What a great picture! I think an occasional primal scream is good therapy. And the car may be a safe place, so that the neighbors don't call 911. ~ Gayle
