A Week in View

The Bear.  So Friday night, in the middle of the night, Mocha -- in a most unusual way -- started to bark like crazy, waking us up.  The next day, the neighbors were all in deep conversation and walking along our backyard, when one of them called to me and asked if that was our dog that was barking in the middle of the night.  I lowered my head and acknowledged my troublesome pet.  Turns out, we have a super-brave protector because there was a BEAR roaming the neighborhood last night.  Apparently, he uprooted some shepherd's hooks, took apart some bird feeders, and left a path of minor destruction!  Way to go, puppy!  She looks like a bear, but people forget she's only 60lbs!

The Mocha.  Speaking of the puppy, she got her summer hair cut and looks WAY different.  Instead of her normal, thick, fluffy black coat, she now has this skinny shaved body that let's you see how little she really is.  People have this habit of noting to me how chubby she is (which always hurts my feelings!!), but look!  The "weight" is just her fur.  Mocha is a LITTLE girl.

Mother's Day.  At church, they gave me (and all the other women in the church) a rose for mother's day.  It really meant a lot to me because I really feel like a mother -- one that's stuck in a desperately long wait for her growing boys.

The Apple Tree.  Great accomplishment of my life, I ate an apple, saved the seed and buried it 3 years ago.  Check out how big it is now!  It's going on 3 ft!  When I retire it'll be about time for me to eat my first apple from this little guy!!

The Adoption.  Well, the summary is typical of the process as a whole, I guess.  Right now, we have one birth certificate and are still waiting for the second.  When PGN shut down, they did so for the purpose of re-interviewing all of the birth mothers.  This process is overwhelming the municipalities, so they are too busy to do the birth certificates.  This is my understanding, anyway.  The other issue, is that our adoption agency has sent a check to our facilitator in Guatemala that bounced.  I'm not sure what is going to happen, but it's definitely complicated.

Good Things.  There are lots of good things coming.
1.  Ray's stepmother's house got an offer on it (however crazy it actually was -- they wanted fix-it-up money added in!)
2.  Cory and Brittiny get married in 5 days!
3.  Ray and I have started a small group that seems to be off to a great start!

Sorry for the delay in writing; things stay busy these days!

I can't believe there was a bear that close to us!!!

Mocha's hair cut certainly changes her appearance. She's still a beautiful, sweet dog.

You are a mother of two boys, don't doubt that. Praying for you!
