Beginning Karate

Well, we're going to officially start Karate tomorrow.  They have been talking about Karate a lot, and since it's a super-organized way to deal with some aggression that the boys have in a positive and controlled way, we're going to try it.

Tomorrow is our first class!  I have some fun pictures of our first meeting with their instructor -- not to mention some fun photos of Danny's first haircut in the States to slip in on the sly here.  :)

Here's Mateo and Danny lovin' up their new karate clothes!
Mr. Bryant is teaching them a few of the basics.   Look how cute they are
trying to stand straight and tall!  Note Danny's little belly sticking out!  Cuteness!
Is it just me or do they look like pros swinging their arms in and out?
I think they've had some practice!
I'll let you know how class #1 goes.  Hopefully the boys will fall right in line.  They did great solo with the instructor and I am hoping they'll be better behaved in a room full of other kids who are following directions.  I hope so!

Here's a couple of shots from Danny's first haircut in the US.
He always looks handsome to me, so it's not a huge difference.  :)

On a different note:  Guatemalan adoptions have officially closed for the rest of the year.  This will have an untold and countless effect on the lives of the children there.  Not only are babies being born with mothers who cannot keep them and have no place to leave them, but there are children in orphanages that cannot sustain the children without money coming in from adoptions, and children in foster care with no funding who may or may not remain there based on the hearts of their caretakers.

We have friends (Em and Phil) who have already been in this enormous process for 2 years with us, who are trying to bring home their 12 year old daughter, N..  Please keep them in your prayers.  Our Bible is full of stories of God doing incredible actions based on the prayers of the few.  With the prayers of many, it's unimaginable what He could accomplish.  May God hear our pleas.
