Home Again

Coming home is such a strange experience. Everyone wants to know about the trip, and I find that mostly my heart is full of sadness at leaving the boys behind. It is so much so that I probably don't make for good conversation. To which, I apologize. I miss those guys in a way that is so intently hard to relay. All I can say is that it's amazing how much one's heart can burst with love for these children with whom we've spent so little physical time.

Meanwhile, here's the update on some practical items.
1. Our status with PGN is that we remain IN. However, today PGN informed the adoptive community that if you get kicked out, you cannot be resubmitted until the new system is formalized and in place. This puts an exceeding amount of pressure for us to remain in. Should we get kicked out, we may be looking at another 5 months of waiting.
2. The New Year's Cards should arrive tomorrow and I'm so excited about them!! I want to renew my petition that if you would like a card and have not previously been on my Christmas card list, let me know, and I'll add you! My hope is to mail out cards this weekend!
3. Our disposable video cameras from our trip have been dropped off at CVS (not the same building we used last time) and I'm hopeful that I can pick up the videos tomorrow afternoon and post them online by tomorrow night. Keep you eyes peeled for those!

I just stumbled onto your blog from Tricia's. Tricia (and Victoria and Alan) and I met in Guatemala when we were picking up our son, Matthew.

I have been sitting here just reading your story and will continue to follow. I am trying to not get adicted to blogs anymore. I was worse when we were in process.

I was wondering if you could email me privately I have some questions about your journey. At this point we are so scared to adopt from Guatemala but that is where our heart is, so I follow very closely. Our agency has a message board that I stay connected to. However, my husband and I are very interested in adopting an older child or brothers if possible. I guess I was so wrapped up in the first adoption (Matthew came home at 8 months back last November) that I did not realize you could adopt older children.

My email is sergejulie@sbcglobal.net.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Your boys are so handsome. I will keep you guys in my prayers.

Julie
