Our Wild Life aka Running on Adrenaline

So this is just a normal day in our life, but in case you were under the delusion that we have a very simple life, this should clear that up.

Yesterday, Ray was scheduled to fly out of Roanoke to go to Michigan for a day business trip. He arrived at the airport at 3:30 for his flight. Around four, he called and asked me to find out if his plane had been delayed as there was no information about his flight on the tv monitors around the terminal. So get this: his flight was canceled and he spend the next couple of hours talking to airline customer service trying to find another way to fly. By 5:30, it was clear he was NOT flying. He spent a half hour getting a rental car. I threw a bunch of clothes and a toothbrush in a bag and we hit the road.

TWELVE HOURS OF DRIVING later. . .
through rain, and sleet and snow, THREE cups of coffee, FOUR pee breaks, a pack of Twizzlers, and SIX interstates later , we arrived in Holland, Michigan at 6am.

My poor husband slept for all of 1.5 hours, got up and showered, and left for his presentation. Talk about running on adrenaline, and the remains of caffeine. !!! Thank goodness for Starbucks.
Regarding our adoption: I THINK we'll have some good news in a couple of days. Stay posted. Things are still up in the air.
