Dinner Can Be an Adventure

After a run in the garden, we had dinner at La Vista. We ate outside, and the boys proved once again that they can eat their weight in just about anything. While Kelli and I were enjoying Penne Pasta Primevera, the boys enjoyed a hamburger with salsa y tomate. "Mas! Mas!" they cried! More ketchup!

If I cut a piece of hamburger too large, Mateo would laugh at me. I would cut it in half, and he would open his mouth. He had a good time using a fork as well, but fingers work better on almost everything. After they had eaten for almost an hour, we ordered two pieces of chocolate cake with strawberry sauce and marzipan.

At first, I thought the boys were finished with the main course, but much to the amusement of the waiter, they did not want any cake until they had "Mas salsa y tomate" (more ketchup)! Finally, they dove into their piece of cake. After Kelli cut it into small pieces, Mateo proceeded to separate the pieces into piles, one for him and one for Danny. Of course, Danny began eating from Mateo's pile even though he had plenty in his pile. The battle was on... Mateo started shoveling Danny's pile of cake into his mouth as Danny went after Mateo's. At least dessert went faster than dinner.

After dinner, Mateo took a fall off Caballo Papa. He had a great time swatting the horse's butt and riding backward until the mishap, but he needed some Mama time while I gave Danny his solo ride.
