The Wait is not so Great.1. We were kicked out of PGN on November 29. We still have not be resubmitted. Alas. The Christmas festivities have held things up and no one feels in the mood to fix a birth certificate. So we keep waiting and waiting. Each week our agency, hopeful souls that they are, say, "By Friday, it'll be in. . ." but two Friday's have passed and we're still waiting. Maybe soon though.
2. There had been some speculation that PGN would rush through all the pending adoption cases and we in the adoption world would be flooded with good news, but that does not appear to be the case. People are still being kicked out and it also appears that things are slowing for the holidays. Alas.
3. We're still waiting to see how things unfold following the Jan. 1 deadline. There's a plan for people to be able to register with a new approving body and move on just as before; however, there's a lot of speculation about ways this could go wrong. The big question is: what kind of wait will this cause?
To Pass the Time

If you're still reading, and haven't passed out from sheer depression, here is how we're passing the time. It's not a bad list if I do say so myself!
1. I've picked out the New Year's Cards and all I need now is the family holiday photo, which we have also planned and will include Santa hats!
2. We've finished most of the holiday shopping and now I will commence the wrapping!
3. I'm making a list of children-approved snacks that are also easy to fly and not subject to exploding in our suitcases.
4. I've picked out Mocha's holiday attire and will post a fun photo later today!
5. I've created fun Christmas puzzles for my students for the Friday before break!
6. I've decided to go to the gym in a pre-war effort to fend off pounds from the delicious explosion of chocolate that has recently surrounded me.
7. I've managed to find something for myself in at least 1/3 of the stores we've visited. Sale items are irrestible!!
8. I've found rechargable batteries for my camera so that as soon as I see the boys the photo shoot can begin!
9. I've found Guatemalan presents for both my parents!
10. I've watched the new Harry Potter movie 3x since it's release a week ago.

I know how hard this is! I don't know if your mom told you, but when we were waiting for Michael, something was not perfect about his birth certificate. It delayed our trip to bring him home and was excrutiating at the time. I thought we would literally never get him. Now, almost 7 years later, I don't even remember exactly how long it delayed the process. I know that is not extremely helpful to you right now, but just hang in there. Try to know that God has a reason for the wait. Everything you are feeling is completely normal. We are praying for your family! Hope you have a great trip next week and that you are not a complete wreck when you come home.
Love, Angie Hill
