We're HERE in Guatemala!!

We are here in Guatemala City! We arrived safely, despite a short delay in Atlanta for rain. We have a LOT to tell you about information we've discovered now that we are here, but just for now, let me recap the last few hours. Here's a photo of the city from our room at the Marriott. You can see las montanas in the distance. Aren't they beautiful? Almost like Virginia.Walter drove us in after meeting us at the airport. He is really sweet and waited an extra hour for us because of the flight delay.

The inside of the Marriott is just beautiful as it's all decorated for Christmas. We had to wait a LONG time for the boys. We thought they'd be here at 3:00, so we anxiously waited in the lobby at 2:30 until 4:00, when they finally arrived!

Then when we finally spotted them getting out of the taxi, Ray and I ran outside and they just fell on me. As soon as I told them I missed them, I just started crying. The boys didn't want to move and we sat in the automatic doorway for a long while. Then we went to the "baby room" and talked a while, and that's where we found out some of the distressing news that we'll share later tonight.

I just can't tell you how much they are part of our hearts and how much we are part of theirs. The boys wouldn't let go of us for nearly 45 minutes. I think their hearts were full of both the happiness of being together again and of the sadness they have been feeling being passed to and from place to place. They could not be happier, running here and there in the hotel room, playing with their pelota (ball) and their little view-finders that we got them. And then every little while, they'll just stop and hug us. Intermingled are frantic, "MAMA!" and "PAPA!" as they want to show us each and every little thing. Anyway, here are just a few more photos. We have a BUNCH more, but I have got to go hug on these little guys some more.
