Here's what we know to be true.
The Ortega Law has officially passed. There is going to be a time of transition, where in-process cases must be converted over to the new system. Right now the authority from which we need approval is the PGN (and honestly right now, I don't know if we're back in or not). But with the new law, a new entity will be created called the CNA that will replace PGN. There is this strange set up, where we're supposed to be registered with this entity by the end of Jan., but the CNA has 60 days to get themselves put together. I'm not sure how it's going to work out.
Obviously, there are going to be some delays in switching over to the new system, though I have no doubt that we will bring these boys home. I am still hopeful for some miracle, in which we have some good news and we'll be allowed to bring our boys home sooner than I think.
Just to keep the prayer chain going, please keep in your thoughts Em and Phil as they are waiting desperately for some good news about their daughter in Guatemala. Please pray that the judge overseeing their case acts in favor of their adoption, and acts quickly. Please also pray that USCIS gives them Immigration Approval this week, so they can visit their daughter again and finally be able to tell her that they want her as part of their family.
