Forever?
No.
That's just what we THOUGHT. First it was a missing toy plane. Then I noticed other items were gone. And all of them were DANIELS. Coincidence? I think not. My brain started ticking. These toys are no where to be found, yet I know they did not leave the room. Hmmm. . .
Daniel, did you put your toys in the safe?
Happy nod.
Your plane is in the safe?
And my ball! he smiles grandly.
And your radio?
Yep!
But what do you do with a boy with no toys, and one room worth of square footage, and energy enough to last for days?
Ahhhhh . . . now you see the problem.
*sigh*
This was a test. I can hear my mother giggling in the background -- along with other veteran parents. Well, we live to fight another day.
Meanwhile -- the scoop tomorrow is that the maintenance guy is coming to open the safe so we can get Daniel's toys, they are calling for heavy rain so the outlook for the pool is not good. Ray is leaving at 3:00 to go get the boys' VISAs from the Embassy, and we are desperately going to pray for a smooth, laid-back day.
And then folks, only one last magnanimous feat left: the sequential plane rides!
God bless! We're almost home!!

Daniel really seems to keep you guys on your toes. I hope your day is more peaceful than yesterday's as well. We cannot wait to see you guys soon!
Can't wait to have you HOME in Virginia!!!!!!
When my daughter was small (nice to do near bedtime or a quiet time), we used to do "Who loves you!" - Mommi loves you, Poppi loves you, grandma, grandpa.... ' in your case, you both would be hoarse with such a long list!
Give Daniel and Mateo oxoxo for me.
I hate to say it, but I was smiling and laughing at the image of Daniel putting his toys in the safe! :) HOME! What a magnificent word to finally say!! I'm again, so happy for you all! :)
Love,
Bethany, Tim, and Caroline
