Tuesday: Embassy Day

Well, my guess is at least three couples will mention our family in their blogs of THEIR Embassy day because Daniel threw one massive fit during our 3.5 wait at the Embassy.  Whew! Thank goodness that is OVER!  The boys actually did well for the MOST part, and they were especially good when we were meeting with the Embassy officials.  Still, it was a looooong morning.

Blessing upon blessings though -- there was NO trouble at the Embassy (other than Daniel!).  We had gotten all kinds of papers notarized and didn't need any of them!  I had even brought extra just-in-case papers from earlier in our process.  Who knew!  That was five pounds of paperwork that just weighed down our carryon!!  The parts where we met with officials could have summed up in about five minutes.  The rest of time we waited.

Our Embassy schedule:
We arrived at the Embassy and they were still closed so we waited (7:00 am).  Then we went through security and entered a room where we waited.  (After about 1.5 hours, this was when Daniel had his meltdown).  Then we met with one woman at the beginning who had Ray initial where she had written the date on our papers.  Then we waited.  Then we realized we left our passports in the room, so we got them, and then waited some more (around 10:00). Then they called us to raise our hands and swear that our documents were true.  We did, and we were done!  Can you believe that!  3.25 hours for just an itty bitty bit of paperwork!  The boys were SUPER glad we were done there and so were we.  We are officially and irrevocably a family forever and ever amen!!  Can I get a Whoop Whoop!??  :)

We did get to play in the pool this late morning and had a swell time there until thunder shooed us away.  :(  The boys have since CRASHED from getting up at 5:30 am!  And it's still thunderin' a mighty here.  Hope you're getting some rain in the States!  Here are some videos and photos!!!

VIDEO FIRST:

Mateo and Daniel loved their goggles, but I don't think
they ever wore them right the whole time we were outside!!

Daniel LOVES to look in the water, but he sometimes flips upside down through his floaty-doughnut.  Ray had to "save" him and here's an after shot.
No harm, no foul -- says Daniel as he floats off to more fun!

More photos later tonight.  I'm sure.  I couldn't get any at the
Embassy as they do not permit cellular devices or photography!   :)
Never fear, hours of photographic moments are still to come!
Adios!

Awesome news!!! You are almost done, bet it feels wonderful!!! Isn't that embassy appt something? We had built it up in our minds the questions they were going to ask & the paperwork and it is one of the easiest parts of the process. Other than the waiting for them to open. :) Our little one wasn't too pleased about the wait either.
I am SOOOO excited for you all!
